What is the MCP Sandbox?

The MCP Sandbox is an interactive page in your Shopigent AI GEO dashboard (/sandbox) where you can test all 8 MCP storefront tools interactively — without setting up an AI agent or creating an API key.

Why Use It?

  • Test before connecting — verify MCP tools work with your products
  • Learn what each tool does — see live responses for your actual data
  • Debug queries — refine parameters before configuring AI agents
  • No setup — just open the page and start testing

How to Use

  1. Navigate to MCP Sandbox in your dashboard
  2. Select a tool from the dropdown
  3. Fill in the parameters (e.g., search keywords, product handles)
  4. Click Execute
  5. See the raw JSON response + a human-readable summary
  6. Timing info shows how fast each query ran

Available Tools

All 8 MCP tools are available in the sandbox:

  • search_products — search by keyword, price, category
  • get_product_details — full product info with schemas
  • compare_products — side-by-side comparison
  • get_promotions — products on sale
  • get_store_info — store metadata
  • get_popular_products — recently published products (newest first; not a sales or review ranking)
  • get_product_recommendations — related products in the same product type
  • get_category_tree — distinct product types (flat list, not a nested tree)
